“SIT AND SWIPE” delves into the gesture of mindless swiping. In this digital
artwork, a circle moves towards the edge, where a collision results in an explosive climax. Yet, swipes on circle in the opposite direction delay this moment,

The artist wanted to reflect on the swiping and gestures that can be seen in social media applications,
highlighting our constant search for satisfaction through swiping in the digital age. As the circle approaches the
edge, the tension mounts, reflecting our cravings for that next dopamine hit, in this case swiping in the
opposite direction and still be “alive”.

The artwork challenges you to consider your own habits. Our brains have become so familiar with this notion of swiping that it has become an almost automatic response,
a fact the artist noticed by himself. How long can you keep swiping before your fingers start to hurt? The repetitive motion becomes a metaphor for the endless chase for fleeting rewards,
urging reflection on the balance between desire and contentment.
